Questions
What are federal bids?
Federal bids are contract opportunities that U.S. federal agencies publish on SAM.gov: solicitations (requests for proposals or quotes, invitations for bid), combined synopsis/solicitations, presolicitations, sources sought notices and award notices.
How often is this list updated?
Every day, from SAM.gov’s public data extract. Each bid links to its official SAM.gov notice, where the documents and the latest amendments are.
Who can bid on a federal contract?
A business registered in SAM.gov (with a Unique Entity ID) that meets the notice’s requirements. Set-aside bids are limited to eligible small businesses, for example 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB or WOSB firms.
How do I find bids for my business?
Filter by your NAICS code (the industry code in the notice), a PSC code (the product or service), your state and the set-asides you qualify for. Not sure of your NAICS code? Use the free NAICS Code Finder.
